Must I do anything special after the test is over? Most people don't feel any discomfort, but if your leg was swollen and sensitive to the touch before the test, the pressure of the sensor might cause some tenderness. As the machine measures the blood flowing through a vein, it makes a swishing noise in time with the rhythm of your heartbeat. He or she then checks your other leg in the same way. The examiner presses the sensor into your skin firmly every few inches to see if the veins change shape under pressure. Once it's in place, an image appears on a video screen, and the technician or doctor moves the sensor up and down along your leg - from the groin to the calf - to view the veins from different angles. What happens when the test is performed?Īfter squirting some clear jelly onto the inside of one of your thighs to help the ultrasound sensor slide around easily, a technician or doctor places the sensor against your skin. If you have pain or swelling in one leg, your doctor may order an ultrasound to determine whether your symptoms are caused by a blockage. Such blockages are usually caused by blood clots, which can be dangerous and even life threatening if they break loose and travel through the blood to the lungs. This type of ultrasound shows if there is a blockage in a leg vein. Venous Ultrasound of the Legs (Lower Extremity Doppler)

12/28/2023 0 Comments Retroarch neo geo c button![]() Now that everything is named the way it has to be, create a folder called hash in your “ROMs/mess2014” folder (or “ROMS/mame” for mame). This one would be “joker's wild!, the (1994)(philips)(us).chd” which is the same format as the iso and cue but it seems the use of capitol letters creates problems in the emulator. Otherwise, change the name of your CHD game file to what it says in the DISK NAME entry. If you downloaded the correctly named CHD game files stated above, skip to the next paragraph (remember that all the CHDs have to be in the cdimono1 folder with no subfolders). To create your own dummy zips, right click in your cdimono1 folder, select create document, select empty and, in this example, name it jokers.zip as noted by the software name entry above. If you found the premade dummy zip file pack referanced above, skip to the next paragraph. The SOFTWARE NAME and DISK NAME are all that really matter here. Otherwise.for example, the cdi.xml hash file is set up like this for each game: xml hash file together (Hint cdii.blogspot) so it ain't really that bad if you download all of those files. I can hear you about to say “Screw that” but: There is an archive page with CHD files already named correctly (Hint MESS 0.149) and a page with. xml, and change the names of your CHD's to fit what is in the. Now to the somewhat convoluted part.you must get a cdi.xml hash file, create dummy zip files with the MAME style names used in said. The folder name and BIOS file name match for a reason so double check. May be changeable?įor CD-I, CHD files must be in your roms folder, in a folder called cdimono1 with BIOS file cdimono1.zip as well (There are at least 2 diff versions of that BIOS and the one that's 468.7kb is the one I got to work). Mame just cuts off 1/5 at the top of the screen and prints a jacked up looking “CDI” and Mess is full screen. The emulator that seemed to work best for me so far is mess2014 but mame (no year) will work too. I can't throw each of them a bone so thanks to all of them. There's a lot of posts explaining how to do this on a ton of systems/OS's and I pieced this all together from others' methods. You can do the same thing to get Neo Geo CD running too but I have problems (see bottom). For all the other completionists, here's a quick-ish explanation of how I got Philip's CD-I to run on Odroid XU4 with OGST image using CHD files. 12/28/2023 0 Comments Slim folio pro detachableThe lack of side protection is annoying, but I put it in a TomToc sleeve when I leave the house with it, so that's not an issue most of the time. It effortlessly goes on and off the iPad when I want it to, it fits the iPad perfectly, it uses the Smart Connector for power, it's splash proof, and I don't mind typing on the keyboard at all. But when I took it off and put the Smart Keyboard Folio back on, I realized that the tradeoffs in design were not worth trying to replace it in the first place. The Slim Folio Pro came close to replacing my Apple model. ![]() But in this case, the problems I'm having are not coming from the extra bulk anyway. I don't mind a little bulk as long as it still includes versatility and functionality. If Zagg had a similar one for the 11" iPad Pro, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. My favorite iPad case of all time was, and will forever be, the Zagg Rugged Messenger that was available for the 10.5" iPad Pro. Notice I'm not complaining about the bulk. ![]() It's still over $100 for a bluetooth keyboard and flap of silicon. I realize that this is the cheaper of the premium keyboard cases for the iPad Pro, but that still doesn't make it cheap. It just makes the case look sloppy and incorrectly manufactured. There's a gap that you can easily see and feel in your hand. The other side effect of this overly stiff hinge is that when you pick the iPad up, the flap on the back that comes away from the cover to enable all the different modes does not sit flush against the back. (A magnetic connection on the corners would have alleviated this issue easily, but there don't seem to be any magnets holding the cover in place on top.) I just hate the fact that the keyboard portion of the case is constantly sliding around unsecured, even with the magnetic flap closed. None of them ever talk about it, which is why I'm thinking this is just me being overly critical/picky. Logitech's marketing material shows that it's always flush no matter what, but in all the pictures I've seen in reviews, they have the same issue I'm seeing. When you pick the iPad up and hold it like you'd hold a book, the pressure from your hand makes the cover slide up so that it's flush. When you lay the iPad down flat on a table, the stiff hinge actually pulls the cover back from being flush from the edges. The problem is that it is not pliable enough. The hinge on this case is very similar to Apple's Smart Keyboard Folio, just way wider to accommodate the thicker keyboard cover and iPad Pro cover. ![]() I'll explain the best I can, as the case has already been returned and I didn't think to take pictures of what I'm talking about: ![]() Be that as it may, it's a deal breaker for me. It could be that I'm just overly nitpicky, as I have never seen this issue mentioned once in any of the written reviews or YouTube videos I've seen. Here's my major issue with this keyboard case, and it's not something any of the thousand reviews I've read ever mentioned: the hinge is TERRIBLE and actually destroys what is otherwise a very good design. I tried Logitech's solution for my 10.5" iPad Pro and hated it, but this looked a lot better designed and implemented. I've been using the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio with a protective iStyles decal applied (because it's a smudge and dirt magnet) since launch last year, and while I have zero issues with it, I wanted to see if the Logitech lived up to the hype. I recently found myself with some gift cards to burn, so I went over to Best Buy and picked up the Logitech Slim Folio Pro for my 11" iPad Pro. 12/28/2023 0 Comments Physical changes vs chemical changesStudents also frequently believe that the original substance in a chemical reaction vanishes completely and forever. Students commonly believe that physical changes are reversible while chemical changes are not. Students may believe that beer frothing is an example of a chemical change or an apple ripening is a physical change. Many students did not appreciate that a chemical change is characterised by the formation of a substance having different properties from the original substance and a considerable proportion of students who did were unable to offer suitable reasons for distinguishing a ‘new’ substance. Research: Driver, Rushworth & Wood-Robinson (1994) Melting and expansion on heating were also considered to be evidence of chemical change by some students. Students can consider potassium permanganate (Condy's crystals) dissolving in water to be a chemical change because of the intense difference in colour. One study found that 80% of students considered a difference in colour between the reactant and product evidence of chemical change. If students regard ice as a different substance from liquid water they are likely to classify the melting of ice as a chemical change. This depends on their conception of substance. ![]() Freezing and boiling are considered to be examples of chemical reactions. Research shows that students frequently use the term chemical change to describe changes in physical state. Research: Loughran, Mulhall & Berry (2002) Pat (recording the group's notes about a prac): What happened? ![]() However an understanding of the differences between purely physical processes such as melting, evaporation and boiling and the changes that take place in chemical reactions, particularly the idea that new substances are formed, is important to an understanding of chemistry and students very frequently confuse the two. Students have difficulty distinguishing between physical and chemical change, despite formal teaching, and the distinction is somewhat arbitrary. Contrasting student and scientific views. My gamble paid off, and Mooney was available here in the seventh round. In the end, I felt Mooney had the best chance to still be on the board two picks later in Round 7, so I went with Robinson, whose change of scenery this year gives him the best QB he has ever played with in the best offense he has ever played in, with the best coach he has ever played for - and, thanks to Cooper Kupp, he won’t draw the opposing team’s No. I was torn here between Robinson and Darnell Mooney for my WR1. Injuries were an issue last season for Mitchell, but ultimately he is the primary running back in a run-heavy offense that will score points. He averaged nearly 20 touches per game last season, with Deebo Samuel still getting his fair share of touches. I don’t understand why he isn’t talked about more. I was screaming his name from the rooftops last offseason and even went as far as to say he’d be the 49ers highest scoring running back when the season was over. ![]() You won’t find many people higher on Mitchell than me. Rounding out my trifecta of second-year running backs is Elijah Mitchell. I thought about taking Elijah Mitchell here, but I thought he might make it back to me in Round 5. He has tremendous PPR upside, especially with his college quarterback Trevor Lawrence under center. Unfortunately for Etienne, he didn’t get to play in his rookie season, but all signs point to Etienne being 100 percent healthy as we head into camps. My RB2 comes from the same draft class as my RB1, as both running backs are entering their second year. Now that I’ve locked up my quarterback position with two “set it and forget it” quarterbacks, I can spend the rest of my draft racking up wide receivers and running backs. Tom Brady’s 719 passes in 2021 were the second highest attempts in a single season in NFL history ( Matthew Stafford had 727 in 2012), and there is no reason to think he won’t throw 650-plus times in 2022. I missed getting my Diggs/Allen stack by one pick as he went 3.01, one pick before me. I couldn’t pass up Tom Brady here in the third round of a SuperFlex league. Stefon Diggs was also a tempting pick so that I could stack him with Josh Allen, but running backs are still king in fantasy, and I didn’t want to miss out on getting one here. With both running backs expected to be in a time-share, the deciding factor was the lack of a PPR floor Chubb offers (25 targets in 2021) compared to Williams (53 targets). His rushing floor, combined with a high-volume passing offense, makes him a no-brainer.Īfter grabbing my quarterback in Round 1, I knew I’d be going with a running back in Round 2. 1 overall quarterback in SuperFlex leagues, and I was ecstatic to get him here. ![]() ![]() When Jonathan Taylor went 1.01, my pick was the easiest pick I’d have to make for the entire draft. Later, after he had taken the name of Caesar, his rival Mark Antony referred to him as "Thurinus" in order to belittle him. According to Suetonius, the cognomen Thurinus ( Latin: ) was added to his birth name as a toddler in 60 BC. Gaius Octavius ( / ɒ k ˈ t eɪ v i ə s/ ok- TAY-vee-əs, Latin: ).He was succeeded as emperor by his adopted son Tiberius, Livia's son and former husband of Augustus' only biological child Julia.Īs a consequence of Roman customs, society, and personal preference, Augustus ( / ɔː ˈ ɡ ʌ s t ə s/ aw- GUST-əs) was known by many names throughout his life: Persistent rumors, substantiated somewhat by deaths in the imperial family, have claimed his wife Livia poisoned him. Augustus died in AD 14 at age 75, probably from natural causes. He reformed the Roman system of taxation, developed networks of roads with an official courier system, established a standing army, established the Praetorian Guard as well as official police and fire-fighting services for Rome, and rebuilt much of the city during his reign. Beyond the frontiers, he secured the empire with a buffer region of client states and made peace with the Parthian Empire through diplomacy. A similar ambiguity is seen in his chosen names, the implied rejection of monarchical titles whereby he called himself Princeps Civitatis (First Citizen) juxtaposed with his adoption of the title Augustus.Īugustus dramatically enlarged the empire, annexing Egypt, Dalmatia, Pannonia, Noricum, and Raetia, expanding possessions in Africa, and completing the conquest of Hispania, but he suffered a major setback in Germania. Antony and his wife Cleopatra, the Ptolemaic queen of Egypt, killed themselves during Octavian's invasion of Egypt, which then became a Roman province.Īfter the demise of the Second Triumvirate, Augustus restored the outward facade of the free republic, with governmental power vested in the Roman Senate, the executive magistrates and the legislative assemblies, yet he maintained autocratic authority by having the Senate grant him lifetime tenure as commander-in-chief, tribune and censor. The Triumvirate was eventually torn apart by the competing ambitions of its members Lepidus was exiled in 36 BC, and Antony was defeated by Octavian at the Battle of Actium in 31 BC. ![]() Following their victory at the Battle of Philippi (42 BC), the Triumvirate divided the Roman Republic among themselves and ruled as de facto dictators. He, Mark Antony, and Marcus Lepidus formed the Second Triumvirate to defeat the assassins of Caesar. His maternal great-uncle Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC, and Octavius was named in Caesar's will as his adopted son and heir as a result, he inherited Caesar's name, estate, and the loyalty of his legions. Gaius Octavius was born into an old and wealthy equestrian branch of the plebeian gens Octavia. The Principate system of imperial rule established by Augustus lasted until the Crisis of the Third Century. The reign of Augustus initiated an imperial cult as well as an era associated with imperial peace, the Pax Romana or Pax Augusta, in which the Roman world was largely free of armed conflict aside from expansionary wars and the Year of the Four Emperors. Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus (born Gaius Octavius 23 September 63 BC – 19 August AD 14), also known as Octavian (Octavianus), was the founder of the Roman Empire he reigned as the first Roman emperor from 27 BC until his death in AD 14. 12/28/2023 0 Comments Face of jesus shroud of turin![]() ![]() Throughout the 17 th century, a part of the choir was demolished to create a circular chapel destined to accommodate this sacred relic that was subsequently moved into its glass case behind the main altar.Īccording to Christian tradition, the Shroud is the cloth that wrapped the body of Jesus after his death and, prior, in the sepulchre in which he was encased. It was subsequently denounced by bishops and monarchs prompting its concealment, but it resurfaced when submissions were granted for its display. The Turin Shroud can be traced with certainty from 1355 when it was exhibited in a church in Lire, France. Linear wounds mar the torso and legs, apparently from scourging. Neither thumb is visible, consistent with the crucifixion theory - pressing firmly on the soft fibres below the wrist, where nails were driven, causes the thumb to curl inward.
